Our story
Fourteen years ago, Angie Keeler and Clinton Keeler co-founded Zella DC (formerly Zellabox) with a visionary goal: to revolutionise the data centre industry by making edge computing accessible and efficient for any business.
Driven by a clear mission, they set out to design and manufacture innovative solutions that address the needs of companies requiring flexible, secure, and scalable data centre infrastructure. They identified a market gap for small, modular, and portable data centres that could be rapidly deployed anywhere in the world.
From their HQ in Perth, Western Australia, today, Zella DC offers cutting-edge data centre technology, including indoor micro data centres (Zella Pro), outdoor micro data centres (Zella Outback), and containerised data centres (Zella Max). These solutions are specifically designed to meet the diverse needs of businesses across various industries and environments, providing edge-ready solutions to tackle unique data storage and usage challenges.

"There were huge savings on power consumption. We conducted an analysis on one of our sites located out at a regional office in Papua New Guinea. The results were amazing and we noticed a huge difference in power consumption from the old infrastructure to the new Zella DC configuration.”
"You don’t just get a box but a whole solution that’s pretty much turnkey from delivery. You get power and air cons hooked up and all the support you need. They fully understood what we had put in before and were able to work with it. At the end of the year, the meter showed that we saved 35% of our yearly operating cost of electricity... We also reclaimed the room and could fit in two desks next to the units because they were so quiet."

“The Zella DC solution has allowed us to implement a data room on a small footprint. Even the monitoring of both Zella DC is carried out remotely from Nissan Brazil. The aesthetics of the Zella DC units meant that we could leave them in an open office where people can see them. The fundamental need is the mobility of the Zella DC units. The explosive growth of the company will soon mean that we will have to place them elsewhere and scale up.”
